Thread yarn onto tapestry needle and run through the four sts. Pull tight and anchor thread.<br />Continue with same thread (on purl side) and sew open edges of 1st and 5th petal together loosely. Work thread back to center of flower. Use remainder of thread to sew three beads to the center of the flower (on the knit side).<br />Fasten off and cut thread close to the flower.<br /><br />Petals of flower may be lightly ironed or block them to flatten them a bit.<br /><br />Abbreviations: RS - right side, tog - together, sts - stitches</span></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><br /></p><div align="center"><a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket" src="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h227/smiledr710/headhuggersfloweronhat.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center"></div><p align="center"></p><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">and here's a lovely<br /><br /><a href="http://www.GlitterMaker.com/"><img title="http://www.GlitterMaker.com/ - Glitter Graphics" alt="http://www.GlitterMaker.com/ - Glitter Graphics" src="http://9.UploadMirror.com/uploaded/6/357/glitter_maker_03_19_2007_19_47_05_33497.gif" border="0" /></a><br /><br />From: Annie's Crochet Newsletter, March-April 1984</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Designed by Mary Pacella for her granddaughter, Christa<br /></span></div><div align="center"><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket" src="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h227/smiledr710/flower_crochet_daffodil_3.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"><br />Materials:<br /><br />sport yarn-small amounts yellow, gold, and green<br />C hook<br /><br />Directions:<br /><br />Rnd 1: With C hook and yellow yarn, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of ch 3 (12).<br /><br />Rnd 2: Working this rnd in back lps, ch 3, dc in each st around, join as before.<br /><br />Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each st around, join.<br /><br />Rnd 4: Ch 2, sc in first st, (ch 2, sc in next st) around, join with sl st in first ch of ch 2.
